There are many things to look at when setting up SolidWorks out of the box.  There are some templates available and we quickly learn out to modify them to get the data that we are looking for out of them.  If we do not do that we take a lot of time to create a Bill of Material or other data.  Mr. Anderson posted a file that has some good information on some of settings to take a look at when setting up your templates to increase the performance of the program on your computer. It is worth looking at and seeing if you can speed up your files and computer.
