In this page, you will learn how to store, find, organize, and open your design data using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and the design apps you use to create.
In the Get Started With Your Roles and Applications section of this Members Path, you will have learnt how to create and save design data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Each section also walked you through different ways to manage your data within your CAD application. In the next few sections, we will look at how to store and manage your data directly on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform website.
How To
There are a few key concepts that you need to understand when it comes to saving your design data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Below are some common questions you may have when it comes to storing and organizing your data.
Where is my Data Stored?
- All data is stored in Collaborative Spaces. You or your Admin should create Collaborative Spaces so that you can store your data in a secure location. Each Collaborative Space is used to control who has access to the data within it.
- All data in Collaborative Spaces is indexed to ensure fast and powerful search capabilities
- For information on how to create Collaborative Spaces, check out: Create a Place to Store Your 3D Data Using Collaborative Spaces on the Admin Path
Can I create folders like I do in Windows or another file-based system?
- Yes, the Bookmark Editor application enables you to create a 'Folder Like' structure that you can use to organize your data.
- For information on creating Bookmarks and a 'Folder-like structure, check out: Create a "Folder Structure" Using Bookmark Editor on the Admin Path
