Session Abstract
This talk shows how project-based learning, combined with SOLIDWORKS Simulation and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, enhances academic training by bridging theory with real-world engineering challenges. Through case studies such as the design of a composite prosthesis, the optimization of the Hand-stand assistance mechanism, and the design validation of a buggy, students engage in authentic problem-solving while developing technical and analytical skills. The academic framework encourages them to define boundary conditions, make assumptions, and apply finite element methods to validate and improve designs. By integrating industry-grade tools into the classroom, educators can enrich both teaching and learning experiences, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and professional readiness. The session also underlines the role of professional certifications as a bridge between academic exercises and immediate industry relevance, preparing students to thrive in modern engineering environments.
