Session Abstract

Clear and consistent drawing templates are essential for accurate communication and efficient manufacturing. However, many teams still struggle with outdated or inconsistent templates that lead to errors, misinterpretations, and wasted time. This session will demonstrate how to create, customize, and manage SOLIDWORKS drawing templates that meet industry standards while streamlining your workflow. You’ll learn how to structure title blocks and borders, automate properties and revision control, and apply dimensioning and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) practices consistently. We’ll also explore how to share and manage templates across teams using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to ensure uniformity in collaborative projects. Attendees will leave with practical methods to build reliable, standards-compliant templates that save time and reduce mistakes.
