Session Abstract

Production Routings or Bill of Process (BOP) – What is its importance, and how can a structured approach enhance the productivity of your company’s manufacturing lines? Based on a fictional Automotive company, “The DS EV Company,” we will explore the following processes to create and manage the transition from design to large-scale production using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform: 1) Design data from SOLIDWORKS, i.e., CAD-BOM/EBOM. 2) Definition of parts based on the following parameters: produced in-house or purchased from the supplier (Tier 3), or outsourced (Tier 1 or Tier 2), and the make/buy/outsourcing decision, 3) Defining different types of BOMs - EBOM - MBOM - SBOM (Service), 4) Deriving the MBOM from an already existing EBOM and then enriching it with manufacturing data, 5) Creation of routings or BOP,  6) Creating work instructions or technical documents, and 7) Creation of resources utilized in the production process. We will also discuss how benefits exceed conventional methods used in the industry.
