There are 2 core DraftSight Role types. A connected DraftSight version and a connector to connect regular DraftSight to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. DraftSight on 3DEXPERIENCE is a version of DraftSight that is connected to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. Whereas, Collaborative Designer for DraftSight connects the DraftSight application to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

DraftSight design data can be stored on the platform in a format for use in DraftSight applications and automatically converted into 3DEXPERIENCE format for consumption by the platform application. This creates a seamless connection between your DraftSight designs and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform roles and applications.

With Collaborative Designer for DraftSight, you can:

• Manage drawing data with seamless and integrated product lifecycle management
• Search, explore, and perform lifecycle operations, including revise, release, and lock/unlock
• Directly access 3DEXPERIENCE applications and information from within DraftSight

With DraftSigh,t you can:

• Get up to speed quickly with a familiar and streamlined user interface.
• Migrate easily from other 2D CAD applications thanks to a familiar interface, workflows, and support for your existing DWG data and automations
• Create, edit, view, shar,e and print professional drawings for engineering, construction, and manufacturing
• Manage both 2D and 3D DWG data with rich design libraries and productivity tools
