Large Assembly Collaboration Masterclass; Faster, Team-Based Design

Session Abstract

Most of the best Large Assembly presentations focus on the software’s various functions for single-user tasks. That is great, but what about teamwork? What happens when multiple users work on the same project? For example, when User #1 designs an assembly area, it needs to connect at the top level with an assembly created by User #2 and vice versa. How can they collaborate seamlessly in real time? Using real-life case studies, this presentation explores best practices for team-level collaboration with large assemblies. Multiple designers use the top-level assembly as a “graphical directory” for accessing their subassemblies and drawings. Then, they take advantage of new techniques that allow them to reference essential data from their colleagues’ assemblies to develop the design together while minimizing external references and eliminating circular references. Join us to discover how teamwork is possible and efficient with large assemblies in SOLIDWORKS 2025.
