Session Abstract

Product design often requires collaboration across disciplines, making efficiency and integration essential. This paper shows how the 3DEXPERIENCE platform unifies design tools into one environment, ensuring reliable data exchange. Two ECAD–MCAD examples are presented: OrCAD X with SOLIDWORKS CAD for PCB and mechanical design, and SOLIDWORKS Electrical with cloud-based CAD integration. Our security camera design has two units: an outdoor camera and an indoor control module with display and HMI, linked by wired and wireless connections. The camera enclosure and optical holders are built for durability, with pan–tilt–zoom via DC motors designed in SOLIDWORKS Premium Connected. Electronics include custom PCBs with a CMOS sensor and LCD, developed in OrCAD Capture, validated in PSpice, and laid out in OrCAD Layout, then integrated mechanically through ECAD–MCAD tools. Wiring harnesses supply power, motors, and video data, while 3D Experience Flow Simulation validates outdoor reliability.
