Session Abstract

DELMIAWorks has a variety of applications that utilize a bar code. In this session, we will review the various types of software and hardware used to generate bar code labels. We will review each of type of equipment needed by the DELMIAWorks applications to use these labels. The talk is designed to be vendor agnostic. The point is to highlight the various configurations of equipment generally in use today. There are a lot of variations found in modern bar code readers. Matching the hardware capabilities to the end user's need is crucial for a successful implementation. Expect to learn about all the variations of a modern bar code imager, how they are deployed in wired, wireless and mobile computing devices. We will also cover the various configurations of label printers. Far too often these topics get little attention during an implementation which leads to end user frustration and difficulties. This talk is designed to educate and hopefully avoid such challenges.
