Session Abstract

The bicycle industry faces challenges that push the limits of design and engineering, including demands for lighter frames, new materials like aluminum and carbon fiber, and improved component durability. Caloi, a leading bicycle manufacturer in Brazil (www.caloi.com), meets these demands through extensive physical testing to ensure quality and performance, focusing on cycling performance and impact resistance. This session explores workflows for simulation models, including static loading, impact testing, and fatigue analysis. Simulation accelerates product development by reducing reliance on physical prototypes and ensuring lightweight yet durable bikes. Participants will learn to create models that reflect real-world challenges, understand how virtual testing complements traditional tests, and utilize cloud computing for complex simulations.
