In this page you will learn the how to access learning resources and start to become familiar with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Your first step as a member of the platform is to familiarize yourself with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform Dashboard, the Compass and Top Bar.

Dashboards are configurable layouts of tabs and app widgets that you can use to create, manage, share and collaborate with data and people.

The Compass, located at the top left is the home of all of your applications. The compass is organized to show you the roles you have been assigned and the applications that are part of them.

The Top Bar is the standard area of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, here you can access the search tool, your profile, notifications and more.

SOLIDWORKS Roles - Default Cockpits Explained

As a new member who has been assigned a SOLIDWORKS CAD role, you will automatically be navigated to the default cockpit dashboard for that role. Each of these cockpits are standardized to comprise the same layout and structure.

See below to understand what each tab contains:

	Welcome or Design Tab The welcome tab contains the Welcome App. An intelligent app that provides quick access to content based on the roles you are assigned, such as: Commonly used apps, getting started content, tips, communities and more. If you are assigned a Browser Based CAD role, this tab will be named 'Design' and will contain both the Welcome App and browser based xApp.
	Content Tab The Content tab contains apps to view, manage and organize your design content. Check out Store and Organize Your Design Data for more information using this tab.
	Tasks Tab The Tasks tab gives you quick access to personal and team task management. Check out Assign and Manage Tasks for You and Others for more help on using this tab.
	Communities Tab The Communities tab provides access to your company's 3DSwym Communities. Communities are a place to share and collaborate with others on your design projects and more. Check out Share and Collaborate with Others in a Community for more help on using this tab.
