Rehab and assistive device development is being upended by advances in additive manufacturing technologies and open-source design communities. Prosthetic limbs have shown a lot of promise for people who are missing their limbs. SOLIDWORKS could aid in the development of custom-fit products that have a tight interaction with the human body, thereby improving people's lives, particularly persons with disabilities.
There are a number of special materials to be aware of when using 3D printers for medical devices, particularly prosthetics. I'll discuss how to combine Mechanical Design and Biomedical Engineering to benefit humanity. I'll talk about some of the most recent technological advances in prosthetics. Students in mechanical and Mechatronics engineering fields will benefit greatly from this session.
