Abstract

This workflow introduces an effective approach that integrates topology optimization with Concept Engineering, leveraging the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for automotive structures. The goal is to achieve a lightweight yet structurally efficient design by optimizing material distribution and obtaining load paths.


The 3DEXPERIENCE platform leverages advanced algorithms to iteratively optimize material distribution, enhancing structural performance while reducing weight. Real-world scenarios are considered through various load cases and boundary conditions.

The optimized results are then used to create a simulation-ready concept model through Concept Structure Engineering, aligning with engineering constraints and practical requirements. This concept model is designed for seamless integration into virtual testing procedures like finite element analysis (FEA).


The iterative nature of this approach allows continuous improvement until the concept model meets all stiffness and weight targets without compromising structural integrity. By integrating topology optimization with Concept Engineering using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, this methodology offers an efficient approach to achieving high-performance automotive structures.
