Introduction
Many of the configuration files available for the DELMIA Process Engineering Web Apps are centered around customizing the columns and views when using the app. Note that not all panels will have configuration files available for customization. For information on the file names and availability for each version please refer to the User Assistance for your release level.
Custom column configurations provide users the ability to see relevant attributes, and allows for grouping and filtering the view based on these new columns. This is especially useful when we consider relation columns, which are able to display connections like manufacturing responsibility, alternates, implement links, etc., tooltips which can provide quick information to the user, and documents which may hold essential information.
Customization Methods
Columns can be customized in two ways:
Automatically via “Show Columns View Preferences Panel”
Manually via creation of the associated XML files
The automatic creation is good for basic users or to get an initial template for the configuration files, but is limited in more advanced relation and tooltip applications.
If you are familiar with navigating object types, extensions, and attributes, or have access to a native client, the manual creation will be more efficient. The majority of this document will focus on manual configuration of XML files.
