9 - New features (22xFD02 - Grasp variability + custom selection)

Ergonomics Tutorial

In this lesson:

Grasp variability:

After creating a worker task, it is now possible to change the grasp location on the object (except for tools).

For that, just edit a worker task, then put your mouse over the manikin's hand:
you'll see 2 icons that will appear, just click on them to open the grasp selection panel:
By selecting a side to grasp, a dummy hand will appear to show the approximate grasp on the object:
Once satisfied with the new grasp location, click on preview to update the manikin posture will the new grasp location:

Custom selection:

It is now possible to select a group of part when creating or editing a worker task.
Just by holding the Ctrl + left click on parts inside the navigator you can select a group part. Those parts can be moved together as a group.

Once pleased with the selection, you can validate it with the top left bar.
The custom selection will be grasped as one object by the manikin:

Select sub par of an assembly:

Let's say that you want to simulate the "operate press" worker task

If you select the press. The all press assembly will be the object you'll interact with.

What you would like to do is to actually operate the push button of the press.

You can do that by clicking on the button on the right of the press in the worker task panel. Then you'll see the list of the part that compose the press. You'll then be able to select the control button and the manikin will on "grasp" this part of the press.
