Here a 3DXML to learn how to use softbody solver operators to deform mesh according to constraints such as pressure, gravity, collision...

Softbody operators are part of the "mesh modeling" family of advanced operators. 

  • For CATIA Visual Scripting, it requires an additional application to be granted and installed (such as CATIA Imagine & Shape, CATIA Creative Design Experience, or CATIA Generative Shape Design)
  • For CATIA xGenerative Design, it requires the 3D Shape Designer ROLE or Computational Designer for Construction ROLE (but not available in 3D Pattern Shape Creator ROLE)

Cloth Deformation (experimental)

Here our experiment about cloth deformation with mesh softbody solver of CATIA Visual Scripting. It covers :

  • raw subdivision surface created in CATIA Creative Design Experience
  • mesh subdivision and remeshing of the initial cloth surface in CATIA Visual Scripting
  • virtual human conversion as subdivision surface and used as rigid body mesh in CATIA Human Design
  • mesh softbody constraints (collision with rigid body, external force for gravity, edge length for elasticity) in CATIA Visual Scripting
  • realistic image with CATIA Live Rendering

This kind of workflow could be done with the combination of 2 roles : Visual Script Designer and Industrial Designer.
