This technical practice highlights the use of Project Usages with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. It will help users create a new library by using the Project Usages option to split the CATIA MAGIC project. The library can then be used in multiple CATIA Magic projects. This technical practice also highlights the management of the library.

Manage Project Usages

Large CATIA Magic projects are built from smaller parts, diagrams or elements. Users can move a part of the model to a separate project. The split projects can then be referred as a Project Usage or Used Project.

Use Case: Reusing Elements of CATIA Magic Project in Other Projects

Scenario: 

A systems engineer wants to reuse elements from a CATIA Magic project to other CATIA Magic projects. He adds the project in the Project Usages to create a library and reduce the manual work of creating the same elements repetitively.

Actors/Personas:

Mark Systems Engineer: Mark is responsible for creating a library of elements that are required to be added in other CATIA Magic projects.

John Systems Engineer: John is responsible for updating the CATIA Magic project using the CATIA Magic library.
