Prerequisites:-
- Get a new certificate from your CA.
- We expect the certificate in pfx/pkcs12 format. If pfx/pkcs12 format cannot be created, please provide a certificate with private key and the pfx file can be generated.
Steps :-
Create the “ses” files for use with Pipeline Pilot.
Opened a command prompt window, and navigated to the following folder for PLP:
D:\Program Files\BIOVIA\PPS\apps\scitegic\core\packages_win64\openssl\openssl-0.9.8zg\bin\
When you run the following commands, you will be prompted for the password of the Certificate PFX file.
- In the following commands, the files MUST be called “ses-signed.crt”, “ses-signed.key” and “ses-signed.chain”.
- Copy the commands to Notepad and ensured that the hyphens (-) were correct, before the commands were executed in the command prompt window.
GENERAL COMMANDS:
openssl pkcs12 -in c:\cert\
openssl pkcs12 -in c:\cert\
openssl pkcs12 -in c:\cert\
In the PLP folder, “D:\Program Files\BIOVIA\PPS\web\conf\”, take a back up of existing SES files. Now copy those three new “ses” files, which were created above, and paste them into the PLP folder, “D:\Program Files\BIOVIA\PPS\web\conf\”.
Log in to the PLP Administration Portal, with Username: scitegicadmin or any other PLP administrator account.
- Under Admin Pages, expand Security and selected SSL Certificate. In the SSL Certificate page, in the Certificate Option, select Obtain a certificate from a recognized signing authority, and click Save Option. A message will be displayed to start the server. Clicked “OK” in the message window, and then, logged out of Pipeline Pilot Administration Portal.
- Stop and start the Service, “BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot X.X.0 (Manager)” (although the above message states to restart the server, you may simply restart the PLP Service), which automatically stops/starts the other two PLP services too: “BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot X.X.0 Service (Httpd)” and “BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot X.X.0 (Tomcat)”.
- Log in to the PLP Administration Portal, with Username: scitegicadmin or any other PLP administrator account. There should not be any certificate errors. Click the lock icon in the URL, and select the option to view the certificate. It should show the latest, new certificate. Log out of PLP Administration Portal.
