📖Translate content, comments and conversations | AURA Guide

What it does

Generate Translation puts content into another language without you copying it out to a separate tool. You can translate a published post or wiki, an answer in a discussion, or a message in a conversation. In each case AURA shows you the translation and leaves the original alone, and you are the only one who sees it.

How to do it

From published content

  1. Open the content you want to read in another language.
  2. Select the menu icon at the top right.
  3. Choose Generate, then Generate Translation.

This translates the whole content and keeps exactly the structure it had: titles, tables and the rest. It shows you the translation without editing the content. You are the only one who sees it, and only for as long as you keep it open.

On a message in a conversation

  1. Open the menu on the message.
  2. Choose Generate Translation.

It shows you the translation without editing the message. You are the only one who sees it, and only for as long as you keep it open.

On an answer or a comment

  1. Open the menu on the answer you want to read.
  2. Choose Translate.

It shows you the translation without editing the answer. You are the only one who sees it, and only for as long as you keep it open.

Choosing the language

When translating published content (Post, Wiki, etc) you can manually choose the output language

  1. You may leave Source language on Auto Detected.
  2. Pick your Target language.
  3. Select Translate.

Comments and messages skip this step. They translate straight away into your default 3DEXPERIENCE platform language.

Tips

  • To translate text inside something you are writing, use the AURA menu in the editor instead. That works on a selection and puts the translation into your draft. See the guide on writing help.
  • Nothing has to be copied out to translate it. For content you would not paste into a public translation site, an unreleased roadmap, a supplier discussion, a draft announcement, everything stays and your IP is safe.
