CATIA users (V5 and V6) need access to efficient and cost-effective realistic simulation tailored for designers, to validate the performance of their designs, reduce errors and risks, and ensure that their designs perform as desired when tested and used.
A new family of scalable simulation roles in the 3DEXPERIENCE R2020x Simulation portfolio better delivers on this need.
New role: Structural Designer
Structural Designer (SRD) provides streamlined product performance assessment capabilities under linear static conditions, which are sufficient for many product design scenarios. The role delivers linear stress analysis, natural frequency vibration, buckling, and steady-state thermal simulation capabilities for a fast and efficient virtual test experience.
New role: Structural Engineer
Structural Engineer (SLL) expands on SRD, by providing linear dynamic response capabilities.
Both roles complement the existing Structural Professional Engineer (DRD) role, which offers non linear analysis for more advanced applications.
The simulation is performed directly on the CATIA and SolidWorks geometry (i.e. there is no copy as with other competitive solutions), enabling users to run seamless design iterations based on simulation results, for higher productivity and better decisions. These roles provide a complete self contained solution for simulation for designers: they offer a guided simulation environment for designers, and include embedded compute (no additional licensing needed). They also provide an easy and tailored path to the 3DEXPERIENCE for CATIA V5 Simulation users.
Enhanced Power' By covering all SIMULIA standalone products
Users of simulation products generally do not have access to out of the box capabilities for enabling much needed collaboration & sharing, and simulation management. Prior releases changed that to open the power the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to those users and their IP, bringing capabilities to capture & publish best-practices, share & collaborate on results & methods, and integrate fully with non-experts.
3DEXPERIENCE R2020x opens further the power of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to Wave6 users for acoustics, and, at FD01, to PowerFlow users for fluids. The new All Physics Analyst (PXK) role provides – in one solution – access to all major SIMULIA standalone simulation products including Abaqus for structures, CST Studio Suite for electromagnetics, Simpack for multibody, Wave6 for acoustics, and XFlow for fluids, with PowerFLOW for fluids planned for FD01.
A key value of All Physics Analyst to the user of SIMULIA standalone tools is that the data, methods and results of simulations – including his own - are more easily accessible & visible (and hence more valuable) throughout the work-group and the enterprise with no disruption to existing methods and tools. In addition, simulation activities become visible and available to everyone in the Enterprise to improve decision making through improved understanding of product performance and provide clarity on how to deliver the right products to market in the shortest time.
