New role: Manufactured Items Engineer
What
Manufactured Items Engineer (MFN) provides the capabilities to define, compare, manage and update the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM).
Key activities and associated values
- Easy-to-use web client with 3D visualization reduces the time for deployment and provides the user with a more accurate representation of the MBOM
- User defined templates save time by reducing re-work
App availability: Mfg Items Management
MBOM definition in a simple web UI
MFN provides the capability to create and update a Manufacturing Item structure (in coherency with the Engineering Item structure) representing the As-Planned view of the product. It contains all the items identified on the shop floor and managed in inventory. Each item is either produced by a manufacturing process or provided by a supplier.
Key Value
- Integrated with design engineering for easy communication and parallel engineering
- Simple & flexible definition/evolution of MBOM in consistency with EBOM
- Smart reconciliation through automation & dashboarding
New role: Material Deposition Programmer
Role Description
Prepare & Simulate the manufacturing process for Direct Energy Deposition machines and robots
Key Values
- Start from Additive Process Templates to rapidly reuse prooven manufacturing processes for additive mfg
- Prepare the part by adding offset of material for substractive operations
- Program & simulate laser path for metal deposition on multi-axis machines and robots with collision and polishing operations
- Automatic generation of simulation model including mesh, heat flux, stress distorsion and thermal boundary conditions (ultimately targeted)
- Integration with machining technics to perform Hybrid Manufacturing
Material Deposition Programmer - Workflow
Enhancement: DELMIA Process Engineering
Issue Management
Add command "Issue Management" in all Planning apps
- “Issue Management”, available as a Web App is becoming the strategy to add/follow issues and their resolution in the Platform
- This widget is now available as a web-in-win command in all Planning Apps:
- When identifying an issue, the user can directly create an issue from the current Planning App, attach Items or Operations as elements of the issue (“Context”, “Reported Against”, “Resolved By”) and assign the action
Management of scope for installation process
Scope from a Workplan to an Installation is now identifying the instance of the Installation
- This way the Input of the Installation can be identified
- Hence Operations of the Workplan are allowed to implement elements of the Installation, as before, as well as elements of the Input of the Installation.
- This allows the Workplan managing the installation to remove some elements of the input of the installation, load the parts of the Installation, and then mount back the elements of the input.
- Ex: To install cables, need to remove the blankets from the fuselage, put in place the cables and put back the blankets
Provide Preference Settings for Wrap mode in Process Gantt
Provide a new Gantt Preference settings to display the Wrap Mode in System View
- Process Gantt must be in “System View”.
- This preference activates the display of the Wrapped portions for the Operations which exceeds the cycle time.
- The wrapped portions of the operations are colored in lighter shades to denote the previous cycle.
Usability Enhancement in Relations Panel
Display all keywords for Item-Product links in Relations Panel
When selecting an Item scoping a Product:
- In R2020xGA, the Relations Panel shows only the scoped Product and not any other relations.
- From R2020xFD01 onwards, along with scope, it shows other relations such as ‘First Upper scope’ and ‘Implement Link’.
Enhancement: DELMIA Additive Manufacturing
Global Powder Bed Fabrication improvements
Improve ease of use of Additive apps
- Adding a wizard that guides the user through the necessary steps to prepare a build
- New command to generate an output product for machining or planning operation
- Scaling of support structures
- Community creation for EOS, AddUp and Renishaw
- Capability to download Digital twin and produce jobfile for those printers
- Explanation on how to configure inside the 3DEXPERIENCE
3D Nesting, Pattern layout and Best Orientation
Expand part positioning capabilities
- 2 new ways to do Nesting : In 3D or by specifying space along axis
- Best Orientation Improvements
- Reduced computation time
- New optimisation criterion : Optimize heat transfer
- Benchmark between best solutions found
- Rules management command always accessible in the app
Material Deposition for FDM
Covers programming for new additive processes
- Reuse infrastructure from NC Machining applications
- Will allow hybrid Manufacturing directly
- Have dedicated Additive operation
- Taking into account specific additive topics such as the skin management or the capability to change the print parameters depending along the operation
- 1st version scope
- Print one part per operation
- 2.5 axis toolpath computation with 5 axis tool orientation
- Material adding simulation
- Handle NC Machine and Robots
Enhancement: DELMIA Machining
New wizard machining assistant
Guide the user for machine programing
- New machining wizard to guide user, to easily define the setup and programing
- The wizard contains sections and commands from setup definition until program validation
- Automatic switch from one section to the next one
- Sections with explicative text and status display
- Adaptative content based on application
- Link to DELMIA Community
Reuse programming with feature recognition
Capture know-how manufacturing in the 3DExperience
- Reduce programing time
- Saving the programing know-how in 3DExperience platform as a template quickly by a dedicated command
- Recognizing similar shapes in the target part to program
- Reusing the programing with automatic reconnection of geometrical links
Lens shape cutters for gentle sloped surfaces
Reduce machining time with high quality objective
- Supported in sweeping, contour driven, spiral milling and multi axis spiral milling operations
- Reduce the machining time thanks to higher step over compared to classical end mill tools
