Deliver a consistent Process Engineering definition for any downstream usage such as ERP and MOM through these new enhancements:
- Validate and select Alternates / Substitutes parts with a replace by alternate capability
- Define the usage at manufacturing items consumption (pick, place, move, remove, etc) by operation
- Create dedicated quality control process objects to distinguish from nominal manufacturing or maintenance processes
- Consume specific composite design information ( such as plies stacking information) within the Manufacturing Bill of Materials
User Experience Value
Shorten the process of defining the Manufacturing Bill of Materials by automating non-value-added user interactions with a single, combined command (manage inconsistent scope & manage inconsistent link) that administers the updates at multiple levels.
New unified tool to manage all kinds of Product structure (EBOM) impacts on Manufacturing Items structure (MBOM)
Former tools to manage inconsistent scopes and inconsistent implement links between Products and Manufacturing Items are now merged in one single tool to fully manage all Product changes impacts on Manufacturing Items structure
New command to replace a selected Manufacturing Item by any existing alternates or substitutes defined on associated Engineering Item
This new Replace by Alternate/Substitute command, might be especially useful during their qualification process, to perform some manufacturing analysis and approve its usage or not.
When assigning Manufacturing Items to Operations, it is now possible to specify a role to reflect the purpose of this association, such as : add, remove, handle, etc.
Some default role will be define based on the types of Manufacturing Items and Operations. This role value will be editable in the Assignment Manager.
The role value will also be editable in the Systems Assignment Assistant.
The user can create dedicated Quality Control Process that clearly differentiates it from standard Manufacturing or Maintenance processes
New capacity to leverage specific composite design information ( such as plies stacking information) within the Manufacturing Bill of Materials and Process definition Within the CATIA Composites Manufacturing Preparation application, a Design Engineer can generate a product structure to expose necessary information for Manufacturing purpose All exposed composite design specification stored within the Product structure can be leveraged during the Manufacturing BOM definition Composite design specifications are also useful during manufacturing process definition to properly define the assembly sequence
