Extrapolation of Segments

Extrapolating of Curves or Surfaces by Segment boundaries
Dynamic +/- extrapolation of segment boundaries 

  • Segment points that are removed during extrapolation reduction are memorized and can be reinserted in their original position in extrapolation extension movement only during the current operation, but are forgotten when changing the selection.


Omnicut

Projected curves created from Compute Intersections Only
OmniCut can now create a projected curve output when the Cut Type is set to Compute Intersection Only 

Cut Curves by segment point
Curves can now be cut to nearest Segment point based

Auto-hide of input objects
OmniCut now supports the Auto-hiding of input objects upon command confirmation.

Swap inputs button added to OmniCut command
The Swap Selection button swaps the selection order of the input elements, to avoid having to re-select in case one incorrect result

Organize – Key Board Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcut to quickly create a temporary list from the current selection
Using keyboard shortcut “o” you can now create a temporary list from the selected objects

  • Pressing “o” again in the temporary list removes it and returns to the original list

Miscellaneous

Improved stability when locking to support geometry with shortcut “P” in position selection. 
Using shortcut ‘P’ during Position Selection, now the auto-snapping selection to the object under the mouse pointer only occurs when in close proximity to the object.

Improved Trap selection
Rectangular Trap selection using Ctrl-MMB to select all objects contained in the rectangle now uses its own Z-buffer management.

Deviation display
Deviation Tolerances smaller than 0.000001 are no longer displayed in the graphical area


Enhanced app: xDesign

New xDesign landing page

Description: When launching xDesign, the user is presented with a new landing page. This gives users more options and is also easier to use than before with links to user assistance and training as well as New Component, Open existing data or import.

Customer Benefits: A much more aesthetically pleasing starting point to xDesign, with the added benefit of being easier to use with more options to get started and up and running faster

Quick tours

Description: Quick tours is a graphical assistance to guide users through typical workflows

Customer Benefits: Be productive sooner by having a tour of the functionality available and accelerate the learning process


Mobile and Touchscreen Improvements

Description: New features to make using xDesign with Touch Screen devices more productive.

  • Instant feedback on edit feature (double click etc.)
  • “Touch Mode” enlargement for Constraint icons 
  • Robot ruler & snap feedback big enough for finger use
  • Box selection (“view lock”) moves to touch toolbar
  • Tuning for vertices & the origin

Multi-tasking

Description: It is now possible to run more than one command at the same time. For example, show/hide or measure whilst in the middle of modeling command.

New Import Option

Description: It is now possible to import STL files as a visual reference

Customer Benefits: Data from mesh modeling tools or 3D scans can be imported directly for modeling around as a visual reference.


Enhanced Splines 

Description: Splines can now close up on themselves to create a closed contour

Customer Benefits: Now it is possible to create closed contours using a single spline to get the result required


3D Printing 

Description: Print3D Usability enhancements as we added 3D Printer Directory
