Many improvements are delivered on ICEM suite for better curvature analysis & highlights manipulation
User Experience Value
ICEM Design eXperience gets better integrated by making its features usable from other 3Dmodeling apps, and is also able to quickly convert legacy core modeling feature into sculptable shape without losing associativity. Usage of paused Frames in Organize gets much easier
Editing ICEM Design Experience Features from another App
In another app, you can double-click an ICEM Design Experience feature to open the ICEM Design Experience environment, make full use of all its functionality, and return to the original app in one click.
Benefits: Even in another app, you have quick access to the full range of ICEM Design Experience functionality.
The ICEM Design Experience app must be installed and your role must provide access to it. Manually Converting Features into Rework Feature
You can directly convert features from other apps into ICEM Design Experience rework features without sculpting them.
Benefits: You can make features from other apps available to functions exclusively related to rework features while preserving their original shape.
In the tree, the icon of the converted feature shows the pencil of a rework feature. The converted feature is available for the following commands or modes:
• Play/Pause mode
• Replace 3
Extrapolating Curves as Parametric Features
With the OmniExtrapolate command, you can extrapolate curves and keep the result entirely as a parametric feature.
Benefits: Parametric changes affect the extrapolated curve as a whole in the same way as they affect an unsculpted curve of the same shape.
In the command panel, OmniExtrapolate lets you specify the side or sides to which the extrapolation is applied and the factor of the extrapolation.
The existing sculpting tool Extrapolate carries out the extrapolation as an imprint of a delta shape. The delta shape persists in its original intent, even when the extrapolated feature is modified parametrically. In contrast, OmniExtrapolate creates a shape that in its entirety is a parametric feature. When you modify this feature parametrically, the entire shape is changed strictly according to the parameter change.
Currently, the OmniExtrapolate command is applicable to a single curve. The curve must be a single domain wire and can contain m Changing the Direction of the Highlight Analysis Manually
Using the direction handle, you can change the direction of the highlight analysis manually and continuously.
Benefits: You can more quickly and intuitively assess the quality of surfaces.
To detect flaws in surfaces and transitions, the highlight analysis provides several standard directions of the light source.
With the direction handle, you can freely adjust the direction of the highlight effect without rotating the model or changing the view point. You can also observe the highlights while continuously changing the direction. Exposing Analysis Parameters in the Tree
In the cutting plane analysis and the porcupine analysis, you can access the minimum and maximum values of the positive and negative radius parameters in the tree.
Benefits: You get easy access to the values without opening the analysis. Exposing the parameters from the analysis result enables new MODSIM capabilities as the parameters are eligible for the usage of CATIA Design Optimization or Parametric Design Study.
The same parameters are available in combination of the Full and Quick modes when performing a porcupine analysis.
When you create the analysis, the feature node automatically displays the parameters in the read-only mode. The analysis publishes the remarkable values as standard Knowledgeware parameters. You can create formulas, checks, and rules based on these parameters using scripts or a language, such as Enterprise Knowledge Language. Accessing Comparison Options in the Porcupine Curvature Analysis
You can verify whether values are above or below specific thresholds when performing a porcupine curvature analysis. In the Quick mode, various operators are available when defining the Radius and Curvature values.
Benefits: The operators provide a broader coverage of technical regulations and ensure comprehensive compliance verification. Persistently Storing the Display Settings of Cutting Plane Analyses
The display setting values of the cutting plane analysis are persisted and saved with each Cutting Plane Analysis feature. You get the same display settings after saving and reopening the data.
Benefits: Making the display setting values persistent is more user-friendly and time efficient. After reopening the data, the display of the analysis is robust and unambiguous. Creating More Features Within Modules
You can create additional types of features within modules in ICEM Shape Design and ICEM Shape Morphing.
Benefits: The modular approach to your design lets you improve the design flexibility by enabling you to explore, collaborate, and create designs more effectively.
The supported features are:
Advanced Fillet (ICEM Shape Morphing)
Curve Checker
Split Analysis
Surface Offset
