[CATIA] Civil Engineer

Functional Value

Increasing productivity, improving performance and delivering new functionality, the R2021x FD05 update to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform on the cloud enhances the Civil Infrastructure Design in the roadway and railway domains.

Alignment Surface: Generate main curves

Increasing productivity and preparing the concept model for detailed design, new road design functionality will output additional wireframe features to serve as inputs to detailed design components such as road structural layer boundaries, bike and pedestrian lanes, safety features and road furniture.

Alignment: Improve performances for terrain/geology management in vertical alignments

Dramatic improvements of terrain and geology layer display performance in the vertical alignment view enables quick iterations for collaborative design; time to compute has been divided by 4 on average

Alignment: New Transition Curves

A new specialized transition curve is now available. The ‘Cubic Parabola’ curve facilitates the design of both road and railway horizontal alignments especially useful when a road needs to bend at the summit of a hill or rise in the terrain and to reduce the lateral jerk of vehicles moving along a curving alignment.

Subgrade and Earthwork: Manual Precision with user SAG

Enabling to drive the precision of subgrade and earthwork computation allows a better control over computation time and accuracy.

Bridge Design

Bridge Design Assistant now allows users to directly control the bridge piers distribution through a text field, enabling highly flexible and productive parameterization of the bridge layout

Generative Design

Huge usability gain to manage patterns through tables definition enabling easy component position definition by geolocated, stationing or cartesian coordinates

Improve productivity and readiness for higher LOD (Level Of Development) with automatic publishing of needed inputs

Terrain Modeling

Improve process continuity and performance by enabling the creation of a polyhedral mesh from a large point cloud that can be used for downstream earthworks with a high degree of precision.

By displaying coordinate reference system information anywhere, the local geolocation properties and much easier to understand in context of the project.
