Catch up on what happened in a community or conversation | AURA Guide

What it does

Pick a date and AURA tells you what happened since then, in a community or in a conversation. You get it organized by topic, with the names of who raised what. A couple of minutes of reading instead of scrolling back through three weeks of activity.

Useful when you come back from time off, when you are added to a project already in motion, or when you have a meeting in an hour on a thread you have not been able to follow closely.

How to do it

Catch up on a community

  1. Open the community.

  2. Click the menu in the top right corner, next to the search icon.

  3. Click Generate Summary.

  4. Pick your start date in the calendar at the top right of the summary.

  5. Read the recap. It is organized week by week, then by topic, and each topic links straight to the post, question, or file behind it.

Catch up on a conversation

  1. Open the conversation.

  2. Click the chevron in the top right corner.

  3. Click Summarize.

  4. Pick your start date in the calendar at the top right of the summary.

  5. Read the recap. It is organized by topic, names who said what, and can close with an action items list broken down per person.

Adjusting the result

Both summaries have the same controls at the bottom: Make shorter and Make longer to change the level of detail, a copy button to paste the recap into a conversation, an email, or your own notes, and a refresh to regenerate.

Tips

  • Set the start date to the day you left. You get exactly what you missed and nothing you already read.
