Here are some top tips for getting the answer you are looking for:
Before you ask the question
- Read the documentation
- Search the community for similar questions and filter on validated ones:
Asking your question
- Use a meaningful, specific title and reference the role, app or tool you are working in (e.g. Solidworks software, 3D Dashboard, Product Communicator Role etc.)
- Be precise and informative about your problem. This will save you time as, without sufficient detail, your likely replies will be ‘more detail please’!
- Precision at its best: Provide a minimal example that is just enough to exhibit the undesirable behavior and no more. You will learn a lot while creating it, and others will better understand your question and how to best respond.
- If you think you have found a problem: Describe what you did, your expect results, and your actual result. Don't try to make guesses about why this result happened.
- If you have problems reaching a goal along a particular path, ask only about how to reach the goal. Your path might be the wrong one!
Demonstrating your growth mindset
- Show you are willing to help yourself and that you are trying to gain competence.
- Ask for pointers, not solutions – remember the aim is that you can become independent!
- Write so that you can be proud of your post/question.

- Lack of information.
- Dumping details into the community (landfill-style).
