Ask AURA a question | AURA Guide

What it does

AURA can answer questions using everything you have access to internally (posts, wikis, ideas, projects, parts, documentation, etc.) and externally (Public communities, user assistance, etc.). Ask in plain language and AURA returns an answer with links back to the exact content it used.

See: How to access AURA, if you haven't opened AURA yet.

How to do it

  1. Open AURA from any App, your 3DDashboard, or directly in 3DSwym.

  2. Type your question in the conversation box and send it.

  3. Review the answer, along with the links to source content.

Competencies and sources

You can check and select what AURA is scoped to search.

  • Competencies shows which companion and which specific skill areas are active. What's listed depends on your tenant, more competencies and companions may be available to you than shown here.

  • Sources shows which knowledge sources are selected. Same here, more sources may be available depending on your tenant.

If you don't select a specific competency, AURA may ask you to choose between a few options based on your question, or route you automatically to the right one if your question is clear enough.

Tips

  • Be specific. A vague question like "tell me about marketing" returns a broad, less useful answer. A focused one, naming the topic and the context, works better.

  • If the answer isn't enough, check the linked sources first, what you need might be right there, or refine your question.

  • When total accuracy matters, it's best practice with generative AI to always confirm against the linked sources.
