How to use 6WTags?
The 6WTags capability allows you to refine your search results in an intelligent and guided way, based on the 6W facets: what, when, who, where, how, and why. On 3DSwYm, you can tag your own contributions and associate your tags to the appropriate category in order to facilitate community content navigation.
To open the 6WTags panel, click the icon next to the search box in the top bar. Tags are organized in 6W categories (who, when, what, where,why and how…) and each category in groups of tags. In each group, tags are organized by occurrence; you can activate/deactivate multiple tags by clicking on them.
Note that: On 3DDashboard, the 6WTags refine the content of your currently opened tab.On 3DSwYm: the 6WTags refine the content of all your communities.
There are 2 types of tags:
- ‘Implicit’ tags: they are extracted automatically from the content itself, organized in groups and not editable by users (ex. post author, creation date, nb of comments…).
- ‘Explicit’ tags: these tags are defined by the creator of the content, they appear right under the 6W selected category, and are editable by the content author at any time (on 3DSwYm).
Start now to create your ‘explicit’ tags!
- Access the specific content you want to tag (post, media, iQuestions, wiki page…);
- Then, through the content ‘edit’ panel (the 6WTags panel is automatically activated) click on “+” near the appropriate 6W category;
- In the opened field, type your new tag - don’t forget to press ‘Enter” to validate - and publish again the updated content.
Your new tag is now effective and it could be deleted by the content author at any time by clicking on "x" near the tag.
Some aspects to bear in mind:
- The platform does not manage ‘explicit’ tags redundancy or mistakes, so take care to tag with appropriate and self-explanatory key word to help users in finding content.
- If you are community owner, we suggest that you define a “tags dictionary” so the authors can benefit from it to tag their contributions in a more consistent way.
