3DDashboard

The capability of opening minimized widgets when trying to Drag&Drop Search Objects
Previously, when we used to Drag & Drop any search object to a widget that is in minimized mode, we were not able to drop that element.
Now, you can Drag & Drop any search results object on minimized widgets that will open if we hover the object on the minimized widget. Let's have a look.



3Dashboard story persistence and propagation on 3DDashboard actions
3DDashboard owner usually creates stories to describe their dashboard, but previously they were unable to propagate those stories when duplicating dashboards or sharing dashboard copies.

Now when sharing a copy of a dashboard, stories remain persistent and are propagated. 

Let's check the cases:

Duplicate dashboard
You are now able to find stories propagated into the duplicated dashboard.
Also, stories are now independent of each other, and modifying one of the two stories will have no effect on the other. This is a real duplication.

Share by copy
You can share a dashboard using a link and get its story propagated into the newly created dashboard with the share link.

Wiki Improvements

This function is mainly focused on improving our experience. This function will:

  • Improve how we create a wiki page,
  • Improve how we display long trees,
  • Improve how we display long wiki pages.

Wiki page creation
Previously, a new wiki page entry was only visible in the wiki tree once published. Now with R2022x FD03, the wiki page title will be created right under the parent page selected.
Before publishing the page, if you decide to change the parent wiki page, you can do it by just drag and dropping on the required parent wiki page.
Every time the title is changed on the wiki page, the changes are visible in real-time in the wiki tree.

Note The same behavior would be implemented when editing a wiki page, the title modification is reflected live in the wiki tree too.

Wiki pages scrolling improvements
Now, two independent scrolls are provided on the page. One for the wiki tree and one for the detailed wiki page. 



Implementation of CKEditor 

This function will provide the content editor in Swym which will improve the UI and UX of CKEditor. Let's have a look at what's new about it:

Sticky Toolbar for advanced editing mode

You now have an improved interface that will position the toolbar to the top at all times which will give us an advanced editing experience. It will always be displayed and always on top irrespective of the selection of words/sentences.
The floating toolbar on the left will only have the attachment icon since the other options will be moved to the top.
If we scroll downwards in the advanced mode, the toolbar will position itself on the top of the view rather than getting hidden due to scroll. This ‘sticky’ positioning of the toolbar will be at all times.

Normal Toolbar
There will be no change to simple editing mode on the community home page. We will still see the editing toolbar when we select a part of the text.

Media Toolbar
The media toolbar will appear on tap for mobile devices and on click for desktop devices. Previously we used to see the toolbar on hover in case of desktop devices and on touch in case of mobile devices.

Note: These changes will only be applicable for content creations/editions. These changes will not affect messages, comments, or answers.


Display the last contribution when Sorting community feed by the latest activity
Previously, when the community feed was sorted by the latest activity, only the creation date was displayed on each content.
Now We can see various types of user actions and events on the content. A picture will say it all, please notice those new events indications when comparing to the previous release.

  • For Large view & Compact view: The creation Date & Latest activity will be displayed

  • For Timeline view: Latest activity only will be displayed

Here is the list of social events that refresh the contributed date:

  • Content creation date
  • Content update date ( title / property update)
  • Last comment date on content
  • Last answer date on question
  • Last comment date on Answer
  • Last answer date validated
  • Idea switching status
  • WeDo changing status
  • Survey started
  • Survey ended

Here is the list of social events that have no effect on last contributed date:

  • Last deleted comment date
  • Edit comment
  • Last deleted answer date
  • Edit answer
  • Like/Unlike
  • WeDo changing assignee
  • Last invalidated answer date

Limitations

  • The indexing time is dependent on consolidation delays. The propagation of the last contributed date has to go through the indexing and consolidation process that can take a few minutes.
  • Only the contributions younger than one year will be consolidated with the last contribution event message.


Office Document Editor | Allow play of Office files

In the Content tab of Platform Management Dashboard, There is a new widget called Office Document Editor Control Center.
Platform Admin can now choose to enable or disable the Office Document editor when the service is deployed.​​​​​​

If office document editor service is deployed but not enabled

In this case, we can read documents:

  • In content creation for media Slide/Text/Table option will not be available, but you will be able to upload Office type documents

  • Edit properties option is available which allows user to upload a new version of the file or a replacement.


If Office Document Editor service is deployed and enabled
We can create, read and edit documents.



3DDrive

Now, in R22x FD03, you can Improve the collaboration on files without the need to download them:

  • You can visualize Stepx file into 3DDrive
  • Office Documents are now supported in 3DDrive as follows:
    • Creation
    • Visualization
    • Edition
  • Office document preview is now available to everyone. Users can also edit the same document in real time, which improves collaboration


  • Multi selection improvments:
You can now perform a single action on all the selected objects


User Groups

View table in User Group widget
Now, we can find an option to switch between the tile view and table view. In the “Tile View” mode, the icon and the tooltip will be shown as “Table View”.

If we are in the “Table View” mode, the icon and the tooltip will be shown as “Tile View”, and the table view will be displayed as below:

In the table view, the attributes, which will be displayed, are the isibility icon, name of the user group, main owner, members count, and modified date of the group. All the attributes will be listed as part of columns.


Share private group with its members
When we create a private group, we can now select an option to indicate if we want to share automatically our group with its members. It means that members can see the private group they belong to. By default, this option is deactivated.

When the group is created with the above option activated, we can see that our group has been granted the access right as a “Viewer” in the “Responsibilities” tab.
Note: If we revoke the same group, we can reassign it later (if needed).

Also, we can add other existing groups as a Viewer, Manager, or Owner like we add normal users in the Responsibilities tab.

When we are sharing a group with itself, it allows the members of this group to see the members, its properties, and the users/groups granted on it. Similarly, when we are sharing a group with another group, it allows the members of the latter group to see the members, the properties and the users/groups granted on the former. 


The capability of sharing group with groups via group import (CSV)

This feature of sharing group with groups could be managed via group import functionality. 

Note: The import functionality is only available for Platform administrators.

3DSketch & 3DWhiteboard

Here is the list of functionalities available with R2022x FD03.

Alignment shortcut

  • When a shape is drawn you can hold the shift keyboard shortcut to force the line vertically or horizontally according to the cursor position.
  • It becomes easier to create proper layouts and enhance productivity using 3DSketch or 3DWhiteboard.

Save User Preferences for the next sessions

  • User preferences and options are now persisted between sessions. No need to reapply them when creating a new Sketch or Whiteboard.
  • The table below lists the settings that are kept in 3DWhiteboard & 3DSketch.



3DPlay

3DPlay universal player: A single player for all types of media Office files

Enrich the list of supported formats to make 3DPlay the application essential to read a document.


New extensions of Office files PowerPoint®, Excel®, Word® can now be visualized in 3DPlay application.

     - PowerPoint®: .pot, .potm, .potx, .pss, .ppsm, .pssx, .pptm

     - Excel®: .xlsb, .xlt, .xltm, .xltx, .csv

     - Word®: .docm, .dot, .dotm, .dotx, .rtf

Also 3DPlay application is now able to read a Microsoft Outlook® message: .msg.

Office documents is only supported on Public Cloud

Office files from 3DDrive

Visualization of Office files was reserved only to files hosted by 3DSpace application. To propose the best experience for user to visualize Office files everywhere in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, 3DPlay can now visualized Office files hosted by 3DDrive application and so access to this experience with Collaborative Business Innovator role.



Annotation tools: Simple and intuitive tools to annotate contents

Edit text annotations

User experience is improved when editing text annotations with now capability to resize the text annotation by using the 4 corner resize handler.

On Mobile and Desktop as well interactions are simplified to facilitate the user experience.

  • 6W Search experience was already available to all of us if activated, but it is now activated by default for everyone.
  • 6W Search experience won't be available in the Rich client
    Note: You can deactivate the 6W Search experience since we still have the Activate checkbox provided.
