3DEXPERIENCE Launcher Installation

Cannot open file "C:\\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts" Permission Denied

Probable Cause:

  • Firewall or antivirus software may be blocking the port.
  • User does not have access (Read/Write) to the host file.

Probable Solution:

  • Add exception in Antivirus. 
  • Give Read/Write access to host file.

 

3DEXPERIENCE Launcher: netshadd Cmd = MY failed with code 1

Probable Cause:

  • Antivirus software may be blocking the port.

Probable Solution:

  • Add exception in Antivirus (Ex: SentinelOne) or disable antivirus to finish launcher installation.

 

3DEXPERIENCE Launcher welcome window [for install] appears each time user wants to open a Desktop App

Probable Cause:

  • Customer proxy or network is blocking the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher connection.
  • Ad blocker settings prevent the launch of native applications, even when 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher is already installed. 

Probable Solution:

  • Add “dslauncher.3ds.com” as a exception in the proxy and a permanent solution will be to configure users proxy server to account for this exception.

Unable to update 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher. Please try again or download and install manually

Probable Cause:

  • A recent change to users network can block the 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher Update. Automatically downloading and updating the launcher is blocked.

Probable Solution:

  • As suggested download launcher update and install manually
  • More permanent solution would be to allow "dslauncher.3ds.com" as an exception in the network proxy. 

 

Failed to connect to the launcher in 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher Diagnostics

Probable Cause:

  • One of the causes of this issue is 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher is old and its certificate has expired.

Probable Solution:

  • Uninstall 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher from Control Panel.
  • Clear all the folders related to 3D Launcher (In Program Files and Program Data)
  • Clear the iNetCache files from internet settings.
  • Install a fresh launcher from the platform.

 

3DEXPERIENCE Launcher - The provided port is unreachable

Probable Cause:

  • Any one of the ports 20300, 33200 or 40600 are not open.
  • Network Proxy is blocking the connection.

Probable Solution:

  • Check with the IT if the ports listed above can be opened.
  • Check with the IT if "dslauncher.3ds.com" can be added as an exception in the proxy file.
