Filter 3DSwym Content based on User Mentions

• Now you can use the new "Mention" Tag, under Who category, to refine and reach all the content, where a certain username is mentioned.
• Mention can be in the content description OR in comments OR in answers of iQuestion.
  Limitations: This filtering is not supported - 
  • In Timeline View
  • In Conversations tab
  • For Pseudonymized users
  • For Pending users as we cannot mention pending users
  • Filtering content on User group mentions

3DSwym Content Forward - New supported content

Now with R2022x FD01 you can see a new way to forward some content types from a conversation/community to a conversation/community. Following forwards properly supported:

• 3DStory
• 3DSketch 
• 3DWhiteboard 

If the original author of the forwarded content is the same as the one who forwards the content, the mention about “forwarded from” will be removed.

Please note -

• Other content types like wiki page, survey and we do still cannot be forwarded (coming soon for Wiki pages).
• You can select the same source community as a target. All communities listed are communities where the current user has rights to create the given content type.

New UI/UX updates in the left column

3DEXPERIENCE platform 3DSwym communities and conversations are now enriched with a new drop down menu for communities and conversations to:

• follow/unfollow for communities,
• add/remove favorite for communities and conversations
• close for conversation
• removed hide for conversations 

Benefits: You can now use rtf, xps, mpp, vsd and vsdx files within your communities. (See Supported File Extensions)

User Groups

Private Groups - Visibility and Privacy

Now , when you create User Groups, they are by default Private. Only group viewers can view and use Private user groups. Platform administrators, owners and managers can view, manage this kind of groups.

Export of groups to csv file (Only for Platform Admins)

You can now export one or more groups as a csv file, that you can reuse to import and create new, or update existing User Groups.

Capacity to set file and folder as favorites

Now, files and folders can be added/removed as favorites using the dedicated action "Add to favorites" or "Remove from favorites".
Please note - You will not able to create subfolders in the "Favorites" root folder. Also, you cannot upload files directly from the favorites view.

Content Sharing with Private Groups

As mentioned above, in addition to standard user groups, you are now able to create private user groups. 

You can now use private user groups when sharing content to, for example, better manage who can see group information when working with partners on confidential projects.

Dashboard stories annotations

Now, you can use this feature to enrich your dashboard comments with annotated screenshots of widgets highlighted during a dashboard story. This feature is active when reading a story, so it needs to already have been created for it to work.

The feature contains three parts:

• Widget annotations: the ability to draw and type over widgets
• Screenshots: the ability to take a screenshot of an annotated widget and crop it
• Image attachment: the ability to attach a cropped screenshot to a dashboard comment and visualize it later

All the dashboard members are able to see these Dashboard annotation stories, comments, and their attachments.

3DSearch and 6WTags

Suggest Tags already defined in a community

While adding user tags on 3DSwym data (e.g. a Post, Question, Media etc..), 6WTagger is now proposing the existing user tags used across the content of the community.

This allows you to reuse the existing tags, avoid spelling mistakes or same tags with different case (e.g. duplicates) making the efficient use of tagging.

Limitations: 

• The “Swym” source has limit of 50 tags under a predicate so the suggestion scope is limited to set of tags retrieved from there.
• This new feature is not applicable to 3DSwym data which are not part of a community, e.g. a Person (a Swym user)

3DCompass & 3DNotification

3DCompass and 3DNotification are now in context of current platform

Until R2022x GA, 3DCompass and 3DNotification were ‘Platform Agnostic’ (a user has access to all his roles or notifications, from all Platforms he is member of, in the same place). This led to some complexity.

Now, in R2022x FD01, this is managed in the current platform.

3DCompass 

Now, users can filter Roles and Apps based on the Current Platform selected in the Top bar.

They can also choose to enforce the platform selection at App launch.

3DNotification

Notifications are now in context of Platform the user is working on.

In the 3DNotification Center users can choose to receive notifications on the Current platform or from All platforms.

Particular case of Notifications not related to one particular Platform: Notifications continue to be sent to user whatever the Platform the user is working on and whatever the Platform selection is:

• If “Current Platform” is active: This mode allows the user to only see and receive notifications from the current platform and notifications not related to a particular Platform
• If “All Platforms” is active: This mode allows the user to see and receive all notifications from every platforms the user has access to

3DPlay

Page by Page Scrolling and Continuous Scrolling for PDFs

When displaying a PDF document, two new commands, Page by Page Scrolling  and Continuous Scrolling  are now available in the View section of the action bar.

Annotation tools

User Experience is improved to create and edit existing annotations more easily. 

The Annotation Tour command now lets you browse annotations in 2D documents.

Drag and Drop from Desktop

User can preview standard exchange format like 3DXML and PDF directly by loading them in 3DPlay from desktop and then decide to upload content in 3DDrive or 3DSwym applications.

User productivity is improved because he can validate the content before pushing it to 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

Support for Office files hosted by 3DSpace

The list of supported formats in 3DPlay is enriched to make 3DPlay the application essential to read a document. Office files PowerPoint®, Excel®, Word® hosted by 3DSpace application can now be visualized in 3DPlay application.

User can access to all features available in the document experience, like experience that user has already with PDF (Navigation, Annotation...)

Collaborative Spaces Control Center

Manage members in Collaborative Space Control Center

Now you can see new "Manage members" action added on each Collaborative spaces of ‘Manage collaborative spaces’. With this, you can add or remove members and edit their access roles.

Searching and Filtering Members

• An administrator can search through a list of several members who have been added to a collaborative space to find a specific member and edit their role.
• You can search for members by first name, last name, and full name. You can filter the member list by their role in a collaborative space.

Benefits: It is now quicker and more precise to search for members in a collaborative space who have several credentials.

Bookmark Editor

Index Mode and Authoring Mode

You can now view the latest modification of your data by switching from index mode to authoring mode. Also, you can turn on index mode from "Preferences" and selecting Use Index Mode for quicker browsing.

Benefits: The index mode fetches the data and searches the objects quickly. Authoring mode lets you view latest modifications.

Easy Access for Bookmark Editor Widget in Native Apps

In the native apps, you can now access the Bookmark Editor widget in a Window using the Bookmark Browser command available in the tools section of the action bar. The Bookmark Browser command is only available when a parent editor is opened.

Team and Enterprise Project Types

• A Project Type field defines the intent and behavior of a project.
• There are two project types: team project and enterprise project. You can select a project type when creating a project and see the type in the properties. A Leader can also change the project type from team to enterprise.

Detach and Reparent Tasks

• The Detach command lets you detach a task from its parent object.
• You can detach any type of task from its parent project or summary task. You can reparent a task from one project to another or from one project to a summary task using the Parent field.

Task Duration Editing in the Schedule View

• You can change task duration by dragging in the Schedule view.
• Hovering over a task gives you the option of changing its duration. Because summary task duration is determined by its children, you cannot change duration directly on a summary task.

Risks Integration For Enterprise Projects

• An enterprise project can have risks associated with it.
• You can create and view risks for an enterprise project.

Schedule Highlights

• Schedule highlights are tasks and milestones belonging to an enterprise project that display in a separate view.
• In the Schedule tab, you can mark leaf tasks, milestones, and subproject tasks for display in a schedule highlights view. The highlights also display in the Summary tab. The blue line that appears in the Schedule Highlights view is called the bird's eye view.

xDesign

• Create parameters and define their values.
  User parameters can be very handy because they can be:
  • Defined or constrained by relations.
  • Used as the arguments of a relation.
    (For example: If the width of a block should be half of its length (W=L/2). So when you specify L=100, W=50 will be calculated automatically.)

• Automatically orient your designs for optimal 3D printing based on specified criteria, ensuring the quickest time or minimal material usage.
• Detect kinematics contacts between two or more bodies during the simulation of the associated mechanism to avoid clashes between bodies.
• Convert an inserted picture into a 2D sketch.
• Reduce manufacturing errors with the new wall thickness analysis tool.
• Temporarily park the current feature, and create a reference or sketch entity to use in the dialog box of the parked feature without losing your work.
• Import ECAD (IDF 2.0 and 3.0) circuit board files in the work area.

xShape

• You can now create a net surface or a subdivision surface based on an existing set of curves or edges.
• Faster selection of geometry across a subdivision body speeds subdivision model creation. Shift + selection now works on entities (faces, edges, or vertices) that do not lie in the same loop or ring on the mesh. It gives priority to the shortest distance between the two selections across the 3D mesh.

xMold

• Quickly check for areas of your design that are either too thick, which could cause sink marks, or too thin, which may cause filling problems or structural failure.
• Save time when manually creating a Parting Line by allowing the Design Assistance for Selection to suggest different possible solutions for the Parting Line.

• New sheet metal parameters are available for bend allowances and bend deductions along with K-Factor to calculate developed length of Sheet Metal components more accurately.

Now a new app xDefine is available, which is a step up from xDocument app.

We now have 2D drawings in the cloud! 

This much-requested new functionality fuses 3D drawings with 2D drawings, giving our educators and students the best of both worlds. It meets many of the core workflows covered by teachers and curriculum. 

• You can add 2D views on a drawing sheet. The drawing view displays geometries and annotations of the object. 2D layout mode helps to create drawings with a seamless single source of truth between 3D views and 2D drawings.
• Add and modify sheet formats such as sheet size, border, title block, notes, tables etc. to the drawing sheets. This helps the drawings to appear more professional.
• View models, annotations and views easily on 3DPlay for efficient collaboration.
• Print 3D views and 2D drawings of a model to a PDF. The PDF includes all associated geometry and annotations.
• 3D Views and 2D views get automatically updated with any geometric changes in the product. All the annotations also get updated accordingly.
• Add tables to 3D views and drawing sheets. These tables can be edited to modify its elements.

Plastic injection

Materials Database now includes the latest material catalogs from leading material suppliers.  

• Added 26 new plastics material grades (EMS-GRIVORY: 14, SABIC Specialties: 10, Trinseo: 2).
• Renamed or updated 51 grades with the manufacturer’s latest material data.
• Removed 6 obsolete grades.

Auto-Injection Locations

• Auto assesses the part geometry to identify up to 4 suitable injection locations.
• Obtain injection location suggestions in a few seconds thus saving time that you would normally spend in running several analyses to determine these locations.

For part inserts, you can now specify their initial temperatures.

• Previously, Plastic Injection assumed that any part inserts in your model were at ambient temperature. While this approach is consistent with molding practices historically, an increasing portion of the industry prefers to heat part inserts before placing them into the mold because heating a part insert improves the bond between the part insert and the plastic material.
• Plastic Injection now lets you specify the temperature of each part insert at the start of the plastic injection process.
