Hi guys , i'm a first year university student. one of my final projects include , improving or revamping an existing technology. I chose to focus on "spring reels"  for cables. my idea is to add a hook to the tube of the spring reel forcing the cable to rap around the tube. this will enable the use of both sides of the cable while keeping it stretched. the reel would be universal for any home cable under 1 centimeter (0.393 inches).

is this practical ? any suggestions or opinions?
