Our IT Dept. is increasingly pushing wireless networking for all laptops & workstations, Cad and otherwise.  I've always assumed that wireless was much slower than wired (ethernet) and thus not optimal for SolidWorks or EPDM.  I've not seen actual numbers so maybe I'm incorrect in that assumption.  At this time, the main Cad Dept. is still ethernet but I think it is just a matter of time until we are forced to wireless unless we can make a valid argument otherwise.  I do know from experience that installing SolidWorks & EPDM on the wired network is significantly faster than wireless as I've done it side by side on identical laptops.

Anyway, I'm seeking a little input from others that have experience in this area and/or opinions on the subject.
