I have just had a virus on my Windows XP partition (running Windows XP via Bootcamp on Macbook Pro). I now have no way of booting Windows due to damage to the OS files. If I could run Safe Mode I suspect I wouldn't be able to run Solidworks to transfer licences anyway. So, is there a way to recover my licence or reuse it and declare the old machine "deleted"?
What happened was I tried opening a USB drive, and then I saw a blue screen with text, and my computer automatically rebooted into OSX. It was taking longer than normal to load, so I forced shut-down, and chose to reboot into Windows. Then I saw a disk check, and it found 2 files corrupted. The disk check then froze, and I had to force shut down again, and then Windows would not load after the "splash screen" - the screen just stays black. I can view my Windows files using OSX, but this is all I can do.
Do I need a new licence?
