In Windows XP, when you click open from within Solidworks and highlight a file the description of the file will show in that window if that part/assembly has the description field filled in within that file.  Upon switching to Windows 7, this does not appear in the open window.  I rely heavily on this since many of our machines and sub-assemblies look similiar from a thumbnail.  Can this be done in Windows 7?  See the attached JPEG to see what I am refering to in XP
