I am working with my marketing department to create renderings of our products. I am growing increasingly frustrated with the inability of PV360 in SW 2012 to add surface colors to random components. This happens consistently when I have to do a cut away on one of our products and one of the parts that is on either side of the cut will only show the surface color on one side of the cut. When the cut is made, the surface color is removed from the portion of the component on the other side of the cut. When checking the appearance hierarchy it shows that the color is applied. It still doesn't show either in the model view or in the rendering. Even after removing and reapplying, it won't show. In cases of other components, the color will show in the model view, but not in the rendering, and other times, it does not show in the model view, but will show in the rendering.

Does anyone know what is causing this?
