Why are all of the drawing view 'Display Styles' changing when checking into PDM?

My company produces basic "sales drawings" of the equipment we design for customer approval. The top level assemblies are 'Large' with usually around 100 sub-assemblies and a total number of components ranging from 800-1500. The drawing contains three standard views along with an isometric view and some basic footprint dimensions. When ever any one of these "sales drawings" are checked into the PDM vault  the 'Display State' changes from 'Shaded With Edges' to just 'Shaded'. As we still use an approval workflow in which a PDF is automatically created it is ideal if the 'Display State' remained the same, it's a laborious task opening the drawing once more, changing the 'Display State' and saving to PDF manually.

So, why are all of the drawing view 'Display Styles' changing when checking into PDM? How to I stop it from happening?
