Hi forum members.  I was recently asked a question at work about who are the most respected designers and engineers.  I thought that it would make more sense to go straight to the source and ask the community whose work inspires them. 

Who do you guys respect in the field?  Who (past or present) consistantly produces great products.  Who are the standouts in consumer and industrial design? What is it about their work that you find compelling, and how does it inspire you in your own work?

Looking for all feedback, but appreciate any references (websites, links to products, etc) that you are willing to provide.
