What is the standard way to revision your drawings?

Currently we use A - Z on the design drawings.

Once the design is approved  we issue the drawing to production using revisions 1 -99

But how can you do this in PDM?

Or should I Use A01 - A99 for designs. and B01 - B99 for production Issues?
