I created a weldment with about 80 item in the cut list and thencustomzed the properties for each item to show what I wanted to seein the table and on the drawings. I then created some derivedconfigurations from the as-welded configuration. The derivedconfigs had certain portions suppressed and I wanted to use theseto make a simpler fabrication drawing (in stages). However, whenthese configurations are inserted into a drawing, the cut list isnot the same as the parent configuration. If I try to use the "autoballoon" function on these views to get an idea of what ishappening, SW states that there is no cut list associated with thepart and asks me to load one. When I try, I have the option ofwhich configuration to check but the menu will only let me selectthe "as machined" config.
I have tried different combinations of derived configurations fromdifferent starting points and a lot of other things with no sucess.
If I create a Cut List for each view, on each sheet of the drawingas needed, then the item numbers do not (or may not) be the same asthe master cut list for the whole part. I tried this and then, fora trial, sorted the master cut list. The item numbers on the restof the cut lists throughout the drawing did not change.
Note; even when I inserted a cut list as I described above whenasked by the software, the item numbers were still "1" for eachpart. It seems at though the software is seeing a derivedconfiguration as a single part yet there is a cut list in the partmenu for each config?????
Needless to say, I am very frutrated as this was so easy to do inInventor and am looking for help or advice from anywhere!
I am using SW PRemium 2008, SP 5.0 (XP-64 bit). I have attached azip of the file for reference if needed. One of the derivedconfigurations remain but, out of pure hate, I deleted the rest!
Thanks,
