Hi I was just wondering what the convention is with regards to welding symbols, I understand every aspect of the welding convention except the dotted line solid works automatically generates (see attached image). At first I thought this was representing a stitch weld but after further research I found the "Z" symbol that represents stitches. So what exactly is this dotted line for and can it be removed?
