Im currently adding weld beads to our assemblies to show our welders & come across a couple of problems - Im not sure if this is just a shortcoming of the weld bead function itself
Ive added the beads onto a sub assembly, and in the main assembly which contains this sub assembly. Everything looks fine on the model itself
In the drawing of the assembly, Ive used Insert -> Model Items to insert the welds as caterpillars, but these caterpillars just show up on the top level assembly, not the lower sub assembly?
Any ideas if the welds can be shown on the lower levels, rather than just adding the caterpillars in the drawing manually?
Also Ive noticed that if I take a detail view the welds don’t display within the detail view itself, just the main view
From what Ive seen the Weld Bead function is a bit hit & miss - sometimes it works fine & other times, especially if Ive got a horizontal tube butting up against a vertical tube the weld wont create at all (presumably because the gap at the sides is a bit large)
Previously I was just inserting the weld notes & caterpillars in the drawing manually which I may go back to
Also, is there a way of changing the weld bead caterpillar colour in the drawing so that I can make them a bit more distinctive?
