I'm relatively new to weldments in Solidworks.  I want to make sure I head down the right (best) path from the start.

There are two choices for applying a weld bead.  Weld Bead and Fillet Bead.  If I look through the help file under Fillet Bead, it says:

"For performance purposes and additional enhancements, it is recommended that you use the Weld Bead tool instead of Fillet Bead to insert weld beads."

but doesn't go on to explain why it is recommended.

So, why should I choose weld bead?

If Solidworks is recommending Weld Bead, why do we also have the choice of Fillet Bead?

Is there ever a situation where Fillet Bead is a better choice?
