The SOLIDWORKS API Fundamentals training manual uses the VBA programming language for its first eight lessons, until the API SDK and programming SOLIDWORKS add-ins is introduced in lesson 9, after which VB.NET is used. A few people have suggested either switching to VSTA entirely for the first eight lessons or at least introducing an example or two using VSTA. Does anyone feel it would be a good idea to include some Visual Studio Tools for Applications examples in the SOLIDWORKS API Fundamentals training manual? If so, how much of it? I have mixed feelings about this subject and would welcome any insight from those who have taught this course.
