The default viewing angle for my part is on an angle. Normally, using a different CAD package, i would be able to easily change the viewing angle by creating a coordinate system.
I have tried several different ways to rotate my orientation by the few degrees needed.
- by using planes, but they always default to rotate on the original axis. So I may get the correct surface, but my view is rotated to the orginal axis.
- I also tried selecting points. By selecting three points, i would think that the plane would orient to the three points, but it rotates to the original axis.
- by creating a coordinate system. Apparently coordinate systems in solidworks are not as usefull as other CAD packages.
- by using axis. Again, planes orient to the default origin and on an angle to the axis.
I realize that there is a solution to move/copy the part, but that requires a lot more effort on the user than a simple plane/coordinate solution. also, I need multiple coordinate systems for viewing the part on two diffent plane origins. If i move it for one angle, I will have to move it back again later to get the original desired origin.
