I would like to purchase Solidworks for the engineering department in my company.  They currently use Inventory but three of the five engineers have used Solidworks in the past and one was even a trainer.

I am being told by the VAR that he will not sell me the Solidworks software unless I purchase five day training packages for my engineers, despite the fact the intended users already feel they are proficient.  Has this been anyone else's experience?
