OK, I after lenghtly trials, I eventually managed to create a XYZ-curve with the correct airfoil dimensions. I used this curve to cut (extract) a hole in a plate. Now I would like to use this neatly airfoil-shaped hole to create an airfoil object (part) with the matching dimensions. I have tried Insert->Surface->Extrude, without any success. 

Any suggestions?

Yes, I realise that I may create an identical XYZ-curve (airfoil) and then extrude it into the right shape, but since I already have a correctly shaped hole, there should be a quicker way...?
