Good Morning....
An engineer within a group I support asked me this question this morning and I couldn't answer it.
I am hoping there is someone with more knowledge that can help.
"Is there a way to play with the tolerances in SolidWorks? could I set a +/- .005 per part and then... toggle back and forth between the max and min? if I was doing something like a tolerance/clearance study." ... "It's kinda difficult to explain ...to find the answer I'm looking for. I'm not even sure if it can be done. for example, I have these parts ... to do a tolerance study on. All of the parts were modeled nominally according to the available drawings. ... I could change the dimensions manually in my sketches but I didn't know if there was a way to set the tolerance in the (3D) part and then flip back and forth between the max and min."
She is looking to do this in the 3D model itself, not the drawing.
I had suggested possibly using configurations, but I don't think it will do what she is looking for.
Thanks,
Paul.
