Use SWDM API to set  "Show Component description" in tree display when we right click the feature tree ?

when we right click the top of feature tree in a part or a assembly, and select the "tree display", then we can select the "Display Component description". as checked in the API help , we can see the VBA method, that means we need to run this command with SW was being openned. we wanna know that, if the the "Display component description"，can this command be ran in SWDM API ? we want to run this command without SW openned.

pls help to confirm and advise. Thanks a lot
